In garden, with wind flower petals don't glide.
Gently sliding are ornaments of spring bride.
झाड़नी है कौन से गुल की नज़र।
बुलबुले फिरती हैं क्यों तिनके लिए।।
To chase out ill spirit from which flower's home?
With straws in their beaks, why nightingales roam?
क्या बला झूम के घनघोर घटा छाई है।
हाय इस वक़्त मेरा गेसुओं वाला न हुआ।।
It's true that majestic dark clouds impress.
But how I miss my darling's tress!
हिलती नहीं हवा से चमन में ये डालियाँ।
मुँह चूमते हैं फूल उरूसे बहार का!
Twigs in garden, aren't shaken as the wind hisses.
The mouth of spring bride, it's the flower that kisses.... 1
It is not the air that shakes these twigs.
From mouth of spring's bride,
flowers take swigs...... 2
लचक है शाखों में, जुंबिश हवा से फूलों में।
बहार झूल रही है ख़ुशी के झूलों में।।
There is movement of flowers as branches swing.
Swinging with pleasure this time is spring.
शबे विसाल बहुत कम है आसमाँ से कहो।
कि जोड़ दे कोई टुकड़ा शबे जुदाई का।।
Nuptial night is so short, tell the God overhead.

फिर बैठे बैठे वाद ए वस्ल उसने कर लिया।
फिर उठ खड़ा हुआ वही रोग इंतज़ार का।।
