ग़ज़ल आँसुओं से लिखी जाय ना।
What heart went through can't be told.
Ghazal of tears can't be scrolled.
अजब है कहानी मिरे प्यार की।
लिखी जाय लेकिन कही जाय ना।
Story of my love is strange.
What is written, can't be told.
सवेरे से पनघट पे बैठी रहूँ।
पिया बिन गगरिया भरी जाय ना।
Since morn' I sit on well wall.
Sans him, who'll pitcher hold.
न मंदिर न मस्जिद न दैरो हरम।
हमारी कहीं भी सुनी जाय ना।
No temple, mosque, religious place.
None hears what we have told
ख़ुदा से ये बाबा दुआएँ करो।
हमें छोड़कर वो कभी जाय ना।
Pray for us O noble man.
Never to leave , always hold.
सुनाते सुनाते सहर हो गई।
मगर बात दिल की कही जाय ना।
Saying the story, night has passed.
Talk of heart is yet untold.
