मज़े दिए इन्हीं रातों ने उम्र भर के मुझे।
Nights of your parting, I 'll never forget.
All pleasures of life in those nights I could get.
धूप उधर ढलती थी दिल डूबता जाता था इधर।
आज तक याद है वो शाम-ए-जुदाई मुझ को।
Sunlight was regressing and repressing was the heart.
Till today, I remember the parting eve' part by part.
आज खुलने को ही था दर्द-ए-मुहब्बत का भरम।
वो तो कहिए कि अचानक ही तिरी याद आई।
To be disclosed today, was the doubt of love grief.
Suddenly your memory stepped in to cut it brief.
दिल धड़कने का सबब याद आया।
वो तिरी याद थी अब याद आया।
I remember what made heart throb.
It was just my memory knob.
मान-ए-सहरा-नवर्दी पाँव की ईज़ा नहीं।
दिल दुखा देता ऐ लेकिन टूट जाना ख़ार का।
What stops roaming in jungles, foot pain is not a part.
But when my feet break thorns, it hurts my heart.
ऐ दोस्त हम ने तर्क - ए-मुहब्बत के बावजूद।
महसूस की है तेरी ज़रूरत कभी कभी
O friend ! Despite broken relation of love.
I have felt your need often and above.
जुदाइयों के ज़ख़्म दर्द-ए-ज़िंदगी ने भर दिए।
तुझे भी नींद आ गई, मुझे भी सब्र आ गया।
Departure wounds were healed by life pain.
You could sleep well, I too could refrain.
इस क़दर रोया हूँ तेरी याद में।
आईने आँखों के धुंधले हो गए।
In your memories I have wept so much.
Eye glasses got clouded as such.
घर के दीवार-ओ-दर राह तक तक के शल हो गए।
अब न आएगा शायद कोई, सो रहो, सो रहो।
Doors 'n windows of the home, have gone insane awaiting you
Probably now no one will come, go to sleep, sleep you too.
यादों की जलती शबनम से।
फूल का मुखड़ा धोया होगा।
With burning morning dew.
Washed flower faces, a few.
भीग चलीं अब रात की पलकें।
तू अब थक कर सोया होगा।
Wet are eyelashes of night.
Exhausted, asleep are you.
ओ पिछली रुत के साथी।
अब के बरस मैं तन्हा हूँ।
O colleague of year gone.
This year I am all alone.
कुछ तो नाज़ुक मिज़ाज हैं हम भी।
और ये चोट भी नई है अभी।
I have a little delicate mood.
This wound is recent, crude.
आज देखा है तुझ को देर के बाद।
आज का दिन गुज़र न जाए कहीं।
I have seen you since so long. Let not this day paee lifelong.
कहाँ है तू कि तिरे इंतिज़ार में अक्सर।
तमाम रात सुलगते हैं दिल के वीराने।
Tell me where are you, often waiting for you.
Deserts of heart are, aflame night long no clue.
मैं सोते सोते कई बार चौंक चौंक पड़ा।
तमाम रात तिरे पहलुओं से आँच आई।
Often in my sleep there's a beep, 'n it changes sides.
Night long from your sides, your heat Gently glides.
तुझ को हर फूल में उरियाँ सोते।
चाँदनी रात ने देखा होगा।
You sleeping without a cover, within every flower.
That moon lit night, has witnessed lovely sight.
रात कितनी गुज़र गई, लेकिन।
इतनी हिम्मत नहीं कि घर जाएँ।
Much of night has passed, still I roam.
I don't have courage to head for home.
वो कोई दोस्त था अगले दिनों का।
जो पिछली रात से याद आ रहा है।
He was a friend of days, long gone.
Whose memory since last night has flown.
