 निकलता आ रहा है आफ़ताब आहिस्ता आहिस्ता।

जवाँ होने लगे जब वो तो हय से कर लिया पर्दा। 

हया यक-लख़्त आई और शबाब आहिस्ता आहिस्ता।

When she turned young veil crept between us. 

Shame came all at once, youth ever so slowly. 

 शब-ए-फ़ुरक़त का जागा हूँ फ़रिश्तो अब तो सोने दो।

कभी फ़ुरसत में कर लेना हिसाब आहिस्ता आहिस्ता। 

I kept awake on parting night, angels let me sleep now. 

You keep track of records at leisure, ever so slowly.

सवाल-ए-वस्ल पर उन को उदू का ख़ौफ़ है इतना।

दबे होठों से देते हैं जवाब आहिस्ता आहिस्ता। 

My request of union is marred by fear of rival. 

Withtight lips, she replies ever so slowly. 

 वो बे-दर्दी से सर काटे 'अमीर' और मैं कहूँ उन से।

हुज़ूर आहिस्ता आहिस्ता जनाब आहिस्ता आहिस्ता।
