हर ग़लत मोड़ पे टोका है किसी ने मुझ को।
एक आवाज़ तिरी जब से मिरे साथ हुई।

ज़िन्दगी भर मैं जिसे देख के इतराता रहा। मेरा वो रूप तो मिट्टी का धरोहर निकला।
Seeing it life long, I felt so proud and strong.
Form the body attains, is deposit of sand grains.
मेरे होटों पे दुआ उस की ज़ुबाँ पर गाली ।
जिस के अंदर जो छुपा था वही बाहर निकला ।
Prayer on my lips, on his tongue abuse.
What was inside, only that would effuse.
चाँद को छू के चले आए हैं विज्ञान के पंख।
देखना ये है कि इंसान कहाँ तक पहुँचे।
Wings of science caressed moon, what a scene !
How far can the man go, is yet to be seen.
ख़ुशबू सी आ रही है इधर ज़ाफ़रान की।
खिड़की खुली है फिर कोई उसके मकान की।
Fragrance of Jasmine is coming this far.
Some window of her home is again ajar.
उस को क्या ख़ाक शराबों में मज़ाआएगा
जिस ने इक बार भी वो शोख़ नज़र देखी है।
How can the drinks, his pleasure enhance ?
Who saw even once that mischievous glance !
इतना मासूम है ख़ामोश है सारी महफ़िल
पर न मालूम ये ख़ामोशी कहाँ तक पहुँचे।
Well, she is so innocent, whole assembly is silent.
But it's not yet known, how far silence has gone.
तू ढूँढा ता था जिसे जा के बुर्ज-ए-बाबुल में।
वो शख़्स तो किसी मीरा की चश्म-ए-तर में रहा।
Whom you looked for in father 's tower as Lord.
Was seated in Mira' s tear wet eyes as guard.
हज़ारों रत्न थे उस जोहरी की झोली में।
उसे न कुछ भी मिला जो अगर मगर में रहा।
Thousand precious stones were in jeweler's bag.
The indecisive one could not anything tag.
