कफ़न ऐ गर्द-ए-लहद देख न मैला हो जाए। 

आज ही हम ने ये कपड़े हैं नहा के बदले। 

..... फ़ानी बदायूनी..... 

See to it, coffin be not dirty O dirt of grave path!  

This set I whave changed today after a bath. 

फ़साने यूँ तो मोहब्बत के सच हैं पर कुछ कुछ। 

बढ़ा भी देते हैं हम ज़ेब-ए-दास्ताँ के लिए।..... शेफ़्ता मुस्तफ़ा ख़ान.....

Stone- cutters were defeated by the earth.

चुप चाप सुनती रहती है पहरों शब-ए-फ़िराक़। 

तस्वीर-ए-यार को है मिरी गुफ़्तगू पसंद ।

Parting night silently listens to it for long. 

My lover 's sketch likes me talk for long. 

ग़ज़ल उस ने छेड़ी मुझे साज़ देना। 

ज़रा उम्र-ए-रफ़्ता को आवाज़ देना। 

..... सफ़ी लखनवी..... 

Give me device, she's set ghazal to tune.
