In this tussle awaiting her, about dawn don't enquire. 

I put out one lamp at times,

 set another lamp afire. 

ज़बाँ ज़बाँ पे शोर था कि रात ख़त्म हो गई 

यहाँ सहर की आस में हयात ख़त्म हो गई..... महताब ज़फ़र..... 

On each tongue was the din that night is over. 

Here, hoping for the dawn,

 life light is over. 

कब ठहरेगा दर्द ऐ दिल कब रात बसर होगी

All were in dreams, I was awake whole night.

When falcon spirit is awake in the youth. 

A goal in skies appears easy 'n smooth. 

कुछ ख़बर है तुझे ऐ चैन से सोने वाले। 

रात भर कौन तिरी याद में बेदार रहा?

Who was awake all night in your memories?

I keep laughing and playing wlth wave of calamities. 

It would be difficult to live,

 if it was a matter of ease. 

आसाँ नहीं  विसाल तो दुश्वार भी नहीं। 

मुश्किल में हूँ ये मुश्किल-ए-आसाँ लिए हुए..... अमजद नजमी..... 

If not easy, then meeting isn't difficult indeed. 

I am in trouble while doing this easy deed. 

बस-कि दुश्वार है हर काम का आसाँ होना 

आदमी को भी मयस्सर नहीं इंसाँ होना 

..... ग़ालिब...... 

Making a difficult task easy, 

is easy to preach. 

For a man being human is beyond his reach. 

अपनी तस्वीर बनाओगे तो होगा एहसास 

कितना दुश्वार है ख़ुद को कोई चेहरा देना 

..... अज़हर इनायती.....

You would realise it, while portraying the self. 

How difficult it is, to give

 a face to the self ?
