There was a little pain, by breaking of heart. 

But there's a lifetime comfort on my part. 

ऐ 'ज़ौक़' तकल्लुफ़ में है तकलीफ़ सरासर 

आराम में है वो जो तकल्लुफ़ नहीं करता

O 'Zauq', in formality, there's a definite pain. 

He is happy who from it, does refrain. 

दिल की तकलीफ़ कम नहीं करते 

अब कोई शिकवा हम नहीं करते

I do not reduce heart pain. 

These days, I don't complain. 

हम को मालूम है जन्नत की हक़ीक़त लेकिन 

दिल के ख़ुश रखने को 'ग़ालिब' ये ख़याल अच्छा है..... मिर्ज़ा ग़ालिब..... 

About the truths of heaven I am well aware. 

But 'Ghalib' to keep happy, nice idea is there. 

फ़रिश्तों से भी अच्छा मैं बुरा होने से पहले था 

वो मुझ से इंतिहाई ख़ुश ख़फ़ा होने से पहले था..... अनवर शऊर.....

I cover myself with your memories, don't feel alone. 

जब से उस ने शहर को छोड़ा हर रस्ता सुनसान हुआ 

अपना क्या है सारे शहर का इक जैसा नुक़सान हुआ..... मोहसिन नक़्वी..... 

When she left the city, looks of lanes is a pity. 

It's a not my loss alone, whole city lost it's tone.

सारी गली सुनसान पड़ी थी बाद-ए-फ़ना के पहरे में 

हिज्र के दालान और आँगन में बस इक साया ज़िंदा था..... जौन एलिया..... 

Entire lane was deserted, under after death shade. 

In the arena of departure, was only one shadow made. 

शहरों के सारे जंगल गुंजान हो रहे है़ 

फिर लोग मेरे अंदर सुनसान हो रहे हैं 

..... तनवीर अंजुम..... 

The jungles of city are getting dense as meant. 

People within me, have again become silent. 

इस ज़िंदगी में इतनी फ़राग़त किसे नसीब 

इतना न याद आ कि तुझे भूल जाएँ हम

Having comfort in life, who has such a fate. 

Don't crowd memories , I may forget O mate. 

तुम ने किया न याद कभी भूल कर हमें

I have forgotten all for your memory's sake.
